Located in Grote St. Laurenskerk, Alkmaar, Netherlands. Its current disposition is three manuals and pedalboard with a total of 52 stops.
Jacobus van Hagerbeer built the organ between 1639 and 1646 using the pipes of the 1545 Claes Willemsz organ, according to the typical disposition of the Dutch Organ. Large alterations and additions were made by van Hagerbeer between 1652 and 1653. Between 1684 and 1685 a restoration was made by Duytschot. Between 1722 and 1725 the organ was rebuilt by Frans Caspar Schnitger whose stop-list turned it into a German-like organ. Further renovations and alterations followed along the centuries until 1982-86 when the Dutch Firm Flentrop took over the restoration into its original state after Schnitger’s work. Most of the pipework are from 1646 and 1725.
